An Exciting Morning on the Farm! (unfortunately)

August 16, 2009

burning car 009It started as a peaceful morning.  I was watering the side yard at about 8:00, when I  suddenly heard an explosion.  When I looked up, I saw billows of black smoke.  Some one had blown up this car on the future site of the farm.

We had really not wanted to put up fences – didn’t want that “Keep out!” kind of message;  however, it seems this area has been used for a long time as a burning grounds, a drive-through, a dumping grounds, and a recreation lot, so . . .does anyone have any fencing they’d like to donate or any ideas about keeping vehicles out of the lots?

This afternoon, (on our way to the coolness under the trees at Erie Basin Marina,) as we passed Wilson Street from Broadway, I wondered what that mound of black stuff was on your farm!

It would have been nice if it had been what I thought I saw; a huge mound of rich, black earth!

low fences, about 18 inches might at least keep cars out.

It might work. Does Buffalo Reuse have anything like that?
