Tomatoes and Peppers are Planted in the Hoophouse

May 25, 2010

We got the tomatoes and peppers planted in the hoophouse this past week.  Monday and Tuesday, my son tilled in the compost and peat we added in – about a 5″ layer of additives.   On Wednesday morning, Mark tilled in some greensand, laid out the rows, and found boards for the walkways.  That set us up for planting.  Alex, Keturah, Jerusha, Milton and I planted about 55 peppers, 72 tomatoes and 15 cucumbers.  As of this week, they are all happy and thriving in their new homes.

Until next time,

Janice
