On Friday, October 9, Wilson Street Urban Farm was visited by a group of German students interested in learning about community service and volunteerism. No better place to learn that than in Buffal0! The students were in the city for two weeks helping out in a variety of places. On Friday, the whole group came to our farm for the morning photo shoot and a welcome from Council Member Michael Kearns. From there all but three went to other places to work. My three helped layer and organize the compost pile as well prepare lunch for the whole group. We had beautiful weather to work in all morning and got the job done (with a little help from my boys who are used to heavy farm work). At around 12:30, the group returned to eat lunch and do whatever was next on their schedule. Thanks to Erwin from CUFF for bringing them my way.
