UB Class Has a Field Trip to the Farm

April 14, 2010

Yesterday afternoon, the Nutrition and Environment class from UB taught by Janice Cochran came by to learn about what we are doing on Wilson Street and how and why we are doing it.  We talked for a bit in the cozy hoophouse and then split up into several groups to get some work done.  The students were interested and enthusiastic making them a pleasure to work with.  We got rocks and garbage moved out of the hoophouse, mulch moved, compost piles built and last years green onions harvested.  My daughter snapped some pictures of the day.

If other groups are interested in doing something similar, please feel free to contact us and we can try to work something out.  It educates and informs the community as well as helping us get some of the jobs done around the farm.
